Samcheok Beach Station (Samcheok Beach)

Samcheok Beach Station is nestled next to the Samcheok Beach Station. A small and picturesque seafront station, this station is the last stop of the "Fantastic Coastline Traveling Train" line that runs between this place and Cheongryangri Station, Seoul, 2 ~ 3 times a week. Breathtaking scenic beauty awaits the passengers getting off the train.
In the drama, Choi Min-soo and Choi Myung-gil take shelter from rain under the eaves of this station while walking along the railroad tracks.

Samcheok - Samcheok Beach (turn left before entering the city) - Samcheok Beach Station
* Local transportation: Intra-city bus departs about 5 times a day (15-minute ride).
(The intra-city bus departs about 3 times a day when the beach is open.)

Jangho Port

Jangho Port is the filming location of the drama wherein Choi Min-soo has a romantic encounter with Choi Myeong-gil after parting with Myeong Ro-jin (a woman whom he meets at the breakwater following his release from prison) at a motel. In another scene of the drama, Choi Min-soo stares into the Jangho Port at the hill behind Yonghwa gas station and talks about a "whale tomb." The whale tomb is not a real place, but an imaginary place he makes up while looking at Jangho Port. In particular, this place has the most spectacular scenery along national road no. 7, and it has become the destination of choice for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a good plate of fresh "Hwal-eo hoe (thinly sliced raw fish)" during the summer.

Local transportation: Intra-city bus: Departure at interval of 30 ~ 40 minutes (50-minute ride)

Saecheonnyeon Coastal Resort

Saecheonnyeon Coastal Resort is located a short distance from the Beach Sculpture Park, Tower of Wishes, various cafes, Palace Hotel, as well as the coastal road named 'Saecheonnyeon Road' opened in 2000. It has emerged as a new tourist spot offering a panoramic scenic beauty of the East Sea. This place served as a filming location for the drama wherein Choi Myeong-gil and Choi Min-soo took pictures at the Beach Sculpture Park and had conversation in the lobby and room of the Palace Hotel and dinner at a sliced raw fish restaurant.

Hwanseon Cave

Designated as Natural Monument No. 178, Hwanseon Cave offers amazing sights of various stalagmites, stalactites, etc., and is surrounded by picturesque sceneries of Deokyang Mountain, Chotdaebawi Rock (Candlestick Rock), etc. The surrounding area is rich in folk cultural heritages such as oak bark-roofed house, shingle-roofed house, water mill, etc., and was designated as "Daeiri County Park." Hwanseon Cave has attracted more than 2 million visitors since the cave interior opened its doors to the public on October 15, 1997.
The amazing stalactites and huge size of the cave with interior waterfalls fill the tourists with awe and admiration.
